#this is why i hate it when people criticize sam for what he did in s4 #as if dean wouldn’t have done the same or worse #as if dean hasn’t done worse already #as if sam did any of it for his own benefit #sam spends all of s3 watching his brother die before his eyes #he spends an entire year thinking #dean is gonna die dean is gonna die #dean is gonna die because of me #and people wonder why sam went off the deep end #he would have done far far worse to get dean back #and dean should’ve known better than to think otherwise #he couldn’t go a single day without sam before throwing away his soul #sam had to dig a grave with his own hands and dress dean in clean clothes and bury him #and then he had to keep on going without dean for months #you think about that #you think about that the next time you wonder why sam was so desperate to believe a demon #when she said the things that dean would say and told him sam could make a difference
